Quinta da Fornalha is a pilot project of sustainability, managed by a small family business, which develops a series of activities related to the surrounding environment in order to create a sustainable economy based on the use of available resources as well as respect and maintenance of ecosystems and Cultural traditions.

In the municipality of Castro Marim and partially inserted in the Sapal Natural Reserve, Quinta da Fornalha recovers the traditional Algarve culture of agricultural production and provides the visitor with traditional accommodation, experiences of participation in the natural manufacture of certified organic products as well as communion with the fauna And local flora.

There are 36 hectares of organic Mediterranean fruit growing, with various buildings for housing, others for processing, trade and other services such as catering, various edible gardens, experimental biological gardens for own consumption, paths of herbs, erosion prevention elements, and many dreams To join the party!

Quinta da Fornalha, located 3 km from the sea, rehabilitated six old houses that now offers to accommodate those who want a little piece of our peace. The house of Yuca T0, House of the Malva T0, House of Tomilho T0, House Limoeiro T1, House Nora T2, and House of the Furnace T3. Recovered with comfort and tradition, they are always one-storey, with stone walls and clay, red brick floor tiles in cob, private patio with shade of cane and cats for company. Take the basket to collect vegetables in the garden and by the way pick up aromatic, and fresh eggs in the chicken coop. Throw the leftovers into the compost and feel part of this natural cycle.

There you will find Margarida with a library of books to dream about, or to discover fauna and flora through more than 30 paths linked to local heritage and knowledge, as well as a collection of DVDs and CDs that you can borrow during your stay.

To cool off you can use the old irrigation tank, which adapts to the panoramic pool in times of greater heat. It is in a high part of the Quinta, offering an unforgettable view of the sunset.
